              “Lucky Blessing Field” Tibetan incense powder                            

Its basic materials are xiuba and gongba, balanced with Tibetan medicines kanba and xiugen. After being blessed, it becomes excellent incense offering, which has wonderful merit efficacy: establishing a karma relationship to Dharma through smell and touch; increasing assets of happiness and wisdom spontaneously; eliminating suffering, illness and sin; becoming Buddha in a future life. It has been valued by Tibetan monks and people as an excellent dharma medicine such as amrita pill, longevity pill and extrication pill having the same efficacy in dispelling both body and mind impediments.

When the incense is burning, there are many effects caused by its dense fragrant smoke: opening points and clearing the body’s meridian; calms nerves and benefits the mind; removes obstacle and wakes the brain; prevents plague and heals illnesses; drives away mosquitoes and dispels insects; deflects evil and removes pollution, thus bringing tranquility to the home. It is particularly effective at preventing dizziness, headaches, colds, snuffles and assists in inducing serenity in meditation. According to local custom, this incense is burnt at all important events in the lives of Tibetan people who use it to cleanse their bodies and homes, attract luck and repel black magic; and they usually get inspiration. It is indispensable in all Buddhist occasions such as initiation, impartment, prayer chanting, offering meeting and the installing and blessing of Buddha statues. In the morning, the best way to pray for the day’s luck and a calm attitude in dealing with people and situations is to offer this incense to Buddha. It is easy to purify your mind and heart and it is easy for you to achieve stability if you burn the incense while meditating.

When you use the incense, first wash your hands, keep quiet and bow; then take a small spoon of incense powder into a incense burner, burn it with fire, or burn it through a piece of incense stick. The incense ash is also good for suppressing evil, so it is useful to collect it for use later as required. The incense powder can easily become damp therefore be careful to reseal the packet after each use, this will help to preserve its potent qualities.

Everyone who uses the incense gains very deep and special karma with Buddha. Wish one who has belief will constantly cherish this rare karma, diligent in offering Buddha the burning incense, stop evil and promote virtue, purify your own body and mind and also create benefits for others so they too may gain perfect enlightenment with all sentient-beings.

The Ganzi Muya Zuqing Trading Co. Ltd operates its incense manufacturing complex at Duoraogamu, a holy place in Tagong which is in Kangding County, Sichuan province. The meaning of Tagong in Tibetan is “the favorite place loved by Buddha and Bodhisattva”, and the holy place Duoaogamu was once the residence of the Tibetan warrior King Gesar and the Bodhisattva of Good-fortune. Tagong is located on a beautiful grassy plain and strewn with lakes, a setting closely associated with the supernatural. To the north stands Yala the Holy Mountain, which is held to be a reincarnation of the great guardian of the world “Yala”, who is particularly revered by Tibetan people. Yala towers nearly 3300 meters above the plain, reaching an altitude of 7000m. It is snow covered all year round and shimmers like crystal in the thin air. In the 14^th century His Holiness Longchenpa, the founder of the Nyingthik (Heart Drop) tradition in the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism, spent time in retreat and meditation on this holy mountain. There is an abundance of medical herbs growing on the lower slopes of the mountain and you can even see wild deer and eagles. There are also 108 hot springs, with strong warm currents and steam. According to a local legend, these springs were created by a great master’s miracle to provide treatments for 108 ills of the world. One of the hot springs had been blessed by Biruzana, who was a great scripture translator in Tibetan Buddhism. It is said that one may cleanse the sins of three lifetimes simply by bathing in it. How marvelous the Holy Mountain is, inscrutable blessings come from herbs and trees all over the mountain.
